An invitation-only forum for a defined group of senior leaders shaping the UK food industry. Club membership is built around informed contribution, structured deliberation and the examination of issues with long-term significance for the sector.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Invitation-only. Executive deliberative tier.
Club Membership is maintained for a defined number of senior leaders operating within the UK food industry. Club Members participate within closed executive discussions addressing structural market development, regulatory interpretation, capital allocation, cost environment and long-term sector direction.
Engagement is contribution-led and senior-led. This is not a networking group. It is not a forum for promotion, lobbying or product placement. It is a deliberative environment — one in which sector direction is examined with rigour, candour and consequence.
Club Membership is extended by invitation. A limited number of positions are available each year. Participation terms are discussed privately, allowing for candid and constructive dialogue between the Council and prospective members.
Representation is exclusive. Alignment is deliberate.

A defined number of positions is maintained. No open application process. No self-nomination. Membership is considered and purposeful.

Membership is reviewed periodically to preserve balance, relevance and institutional integrity — ensuring the collective body continues to reflect the standards of the Council.

Terms of participation are discussed privately between the Council and each prospective member. No fixed published fee structure applies.
WHAT MEMBERSHIP INVOLVES
Deliberation at the most senior level
Club Membership provides executive-level engagement within a closed deliberative environment. The focus is on the structural forces shaping the UK food industry — examined over the long term, not the short cycle.

Private, structured sessions addressing the forces shaping the UK food system — conducted under Chatham House principles with no external publication of individual contributions.

Cross-sector examination of structural change in the UK food system — market consolidation, supply chain realignment, technology displacement and long-horizon commercial shifts.

Expert, senior-level interpretation of regulatory reform and legislative change affecting the food industry — at the point of development, not after implementation.

Discussion of capital environment, investment prioritisation and financial strategic positioning across the UK food sector — with peers operating at equivalent levels of responsibility.

SESSIONS & FORMAT
Structured, moderated, consequential
Each Member participates within moderated roundtables and deliberative sessions convened during the annual term. Sessions are designed for executive participation — not for presentation to, or persuasion of, a room.
The format is deliberately constrained. Not every session addresses every topic. The programme is shaped by the issues that matter most to the food system in any given term — not by a fixed calendar.
Attendance is expected. Contribution is required. The integrity of the forum depends on both.

GOVERNING PRINCIPLES
How the Club preserves its integrity
The integrity of the Executive Club depends on the principles that govern it. These are not aspirational — they are structural requirements, upheld through the design of each session and reviewed through the membership process.
Deliberative, not promotional
No member uses the Club for product promotion, brand positioning or commercial solicitation. The forum exists for the examination of sector issues — nothing else.
Contribution led, not attendance led
Membership requires active contribution. Those who attend without contributing do not add to the forum. Membership is reviewed against this standard annually.
Balance preserved
Membership composition is actively managed to preserve sector balance and prevent any single interest — commercial, geographic or disciplinary — from dominating the dialogue.
Periodically reviewed
No membership is permanent. The Club is reviewed at regular intervals to ensure ongoing relevance, balance and institutional integrity — and membership adjusted accordingly.
TWO TIERS ONE SYSTEM
The Club and the Alliance
The Executive Club and the Member Alliance are related but distinct. They share the same institutional framework but operate at fundamentally different levels. Senior leaders within the Alliance may, in time, be considered for invitation to the Club.

INVITATION ONLY - TERMS APPLY
The national listening layer of the UK Food Council. Open to all qualifying professionals across the food industry. Research-led visibility across the whole system — not one sector within it. The Alliance is the entry point into the Council's ecosystem and the community from which Executive Club members are, in time, drawn.

Enquire about Club Membership
Club Membership is not applied for. It is extended by invitation, following an internal review process. Organisations wishing to be considered for membership are welcome to contact the Council directly to initiate a review.
Expressions of interest are treated with discretion. The Council will assess the enquiry against current membership composition — preserving sector balance, relevance and institutional integrity — before any further dialogue takes place.
If a position is available and the fit is appropriate, the Council will make contact. Participation terms are then discussed privately.
