Member Briefings 21/22

"We talk about what matters within our
industry"

Events Update - 01/09/2021

Our highly successful conference and exhibitions programme has been temporarily curtailed, due to Covid-19. In their place we have organised a series of executive briefings, round table discussions and industry focus groups.

These events are smaller in the number of members  attending and in their duration with the group content being contained within 2-4 hours sessions with the number of participants being capped to around thirty people. The frequency of these events is dynamic and offers a controlled environment for members and partners to engage in agenda topics and address the industry issues of the day.

UK FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN

LONDON - JANUARY 20 2022

The UK imports more groceries than it exports, through a network of global, complex supply chains. As national politics and trade become increasingly turbulent and extreme weather events and rapid climate change become the norm, it is important to test and identify improvements to the grocery supply chains and infrastructure that will ensure the resilience of the country’s food sources.

2022 EVENTS PROGRAMME

All events are created around the needs of our members and partners. From time to time we reach out to others in the industry who we believe can either benefit from attending as our guest or they have a valuable contribution, intellectual capital, relevant sector experience or 'know-how' to share with the audience.

UK FARMING IN 2030

Farming in 2030: this event explores a route to 2030 to demonstrate that with the right enabling conditions, an agroecological system could provide enough healthy food for a growing UK population. This initial forum will explore how our thinking about agroecology in this country needs to focus on five critical areas: diet, carbon, livestock, productivity and nature. By focusing on these areas, the debate will engage in a Q&A session to answer some key questions of our time: is it possible to provide enough nutritious food for people through agroecological farming alone? What impact would this have on land use, nature, biodiversity, livestock, farming enterprises, food security? What about health and wellbeing and meeting net zero carbon targets? The group will also explore where further analysis and discussion is needed in order to balance different interests and hear a wider range of voices.
