Cote Brasserie CEO Emma Dinnis Departs less than a Year into Role
Côte Brasserie chief executive Emma Dinnis has left the business with immediate effect, less than 12 months after taking up the role.
Her departure comes just three months after the French casual dining chain was acquired by the Karali Group, following its sale by private equity owner Partners Group in October.
Dinnis joined Côte in 2025 and oversaw the business during a significant period of transition, including the change in ownership from Partners Group - which acquired the chain out of administration for £55m during the pandemic in 2020 - to the family-owned Karali Group. At the time of its rescue, Côte operated close to 100 restaurants; today the estate stands at approximately 70 UK sites.
Prior to joining Côte, Dinnis held senior leadership roles across retail and consumer brands including Sofology, M&CO and Topshop, bringing experience from sectors grappling with many of the same structural pressures now facing hospitality: rising operating costs,
constrained consumer spending and the challenge of sustaining brand relevance at scale.
The Karali Group, led by brothers Salim and Karim Janmohamed, is an established franchise operator across the quick-service restaurant, casual dining and café sectors. Its portfolio includes franchise partnerships with Taco Bell and Marugame Udon. Côte represents a notable addition to its UK casual dining interests.
Côte Brasserie was founded in 2007, opening its first restaurant in Wimbledon, London, and rapidly expanded nationally prior to entering administration during the COVID-19 crisis.
The business has not yet announced interim or successor leadership arrangements. The Karali Group was contacted for comment but was unavailable at the time of publication.
Why this matters
Leadership turnover at this stage of an ownership transition will be closely watched by the UK hospitality sector. Côte’s journey — from rapid expansion, through administration, private equity ownership and now family-owned control — reflects the broader recalibration underway across casual dining.
Stability of leadership, clarity of strategic direction and operational discipline will be critical as operators navigate cost inflation, labour pressure and changing consumer expectations in 2026 and beyond.
